Yes, he is a good guitarist, he is also a good storyteller... excellent, I would say, good singer, musician in general... electric guitar, bass, piano, etc. The best is his authenticity and his rawness and his lyrics. As you will see later, he is also very prolific; and yes, he suffered physical and mental torture for much of his life... due to a wrong diagnosis. He went to Canada on the brink of death for a stem cell transplant. Now he is recovering. You find few artists in the musical scene so unique and great. The Manics' lineup has only ever changed three times: Back in their early days as a trio they added a bass player who didn't stay on for too long, but then as a trio again, added Richey Edwards as a rhythm guitarist and co-lyricist who made significant contributions to the band and stayed on until early 1995 when he disappeared and has never been seen since. The song title is taken from a Republican propaganda poster by the rebels who fought against the fascist dictator Franco in the 1930s. The songwriter was impressed with the bravery of these volunteers who fought in the Spanish civil war to protect the future of their children and doubts he could have the same courage(gravity keeps my head down or is it maybe shame). In a way it’s about modern day apathy to societal problems as opposed to the idealism and courage of past generations.

Funny that SY come from the shoegaze/noise/alternative scene and get so experimental with their guitars yet all I hear is pure pop goodness. From their newer album, Take Me Back To Eden, The Summoning, Vore, Ascensionism. Save Euclid for last. It completes the whole journey. Their whole discography tells a story. They are a masked, anonymous band and the lead singer goes by Vessel, who, in the studio, does all the vocals and instrumentation except the drums. They don't fit in one genre and combine genres in the same song. I'm so excited to see where you'll go with them next!
